Hi there! My name's Leigh. I am a scientist and a bit of a nerd.
I have two motivations for creating Peculiar Planet. Firstly, it's the podcast I wanted to listen to. I wanted a show that's engaging, curious, entertaining, yet scientific. So, I made my own show! Hopefully it's so much fun for people to listen to, they don't even realize they're learning about science.

Secondly, my science career has mostly focused on climate change, overfishing, and other environmental issues. While these areas of research are of vital importance, I felt I was losing touch with why I became interested in science in the first place. Curiosity!
